The image is digitally altered. In the original image, featured in a 2018 article from Reuters, Daniels is wearing a plain blue dress.

Fact Check:

Daniels’ ex-lawyer, Michael Avenatti, is reportedly talking to 2024 presumptive Republican nominee and former President Donald Trump’s legal team amid his current case involving alleged hush money payments made to Daniels, according to the New York Post. Avenatti is purportedly “ready and willing to testify” against Daniels in the case, the outlet reported.

The Facebook image, which has garnered over 800 likes as of writing, purports to show Daniels wearing a blue dress with mushrooms on it. “Stormy Daniels chose to wear this dress today to court,” text above the image reads in part.

The claim is false, as the image is digitally altered. In the original image, featured in a 2018 article from Reuters, Daniels is wearing a plain blue dress. According to its caption, the image showed Daniels arriving at ABC Studios in New York ahead of an appearance on the daytime talk show “The View.” The article highlighted purported threats Daniels experienced for speaking out about her alleged sexual encounter with Trump.

Likewise, Check Your Fact did not find the Facebook image referenced in any recent credible news reports about Daniels or Trump’s current trial involving supposed hush money payments made to Daniels. In fact, the opposite is true. USA Today also reported the image is altered via an April 23 article.

Additionally, Daniels has not publicly commented on the image via her verified X and Instagram accounts. Trump has not publicly commented on the image, either. Furthermore, although Daniels was reportedly served a recent subpoena by Trump’s legal team, she has not appeared in court to testify at his trial as of April 24.
